Intense Pulse Light Therapy (IPL) is used for vascular lesions, targeting blood vessels in the skin. IPL raises blood vessel temperature high enough to cause coagulation, leading to the destruction of these vessels, which are then replaced by fibrous granulation tissue. IPL is used for dilated blood vessels that cause things such as rosacea, spider veins, vascular lesions, acne scars, stretch marks, sun damaged skin, and pigmented lesions such as Melasma. It targets pigmented lesions by destroying pigmented cells, such as sun spots and small vascular lesions

Longevity of this treatment varies based on factors that include diet/lifestyle, medical-grade skincare, sun exposure, etc. However, after the initial session, some patients do not need additional treatments.
